MedMentor staff conducts interviews with each potential mentor
Potential mentors undergo character reference checks (which includes a person from their medical team, such as a doctor or nurse) as well as a background check, including: social security verification, sexual offenders registry check, and national criminal database search
Potential mentors undergo a mandatory training session that outlines behavioral expectations as listed in our Policy & Procedure Manual. Topics include but are not limited to: ways to establish healthy boundaries, develop trust, identify and escalate risks/issues, maintain patient confidentiality, and communicate effectively (including how to avoid giving medical advice).
We welcome your questions or comments throughout the life of the match. Additionally, MedMentor staff will be in ongoing communication with you, your child, and your child’s mentor.
